![]() ![]() Always use skills when possible, unless it's high miss-rate skills which in that case save it for when enemies are broken and max boost it for damage. Also try to avoid using normal attacks unless it's for breaking as it does a pitiful amount of damage past early areas. Make sure you have unlocked their skills for example, and also to equip job skills that help with the role they have in your party. Fire for example are generally weak to Ice, and Wind are in general weak to Lightning attacks.Īlso another thing is that elemental weaknesses are towards the right side of the weaknesses, so if you have already revealed 4/5 of the weaknesses and all of them are physical types, the last one is most probably some sort of element.įor the 99 damage issue, try and check around and maybe switch subjobs/roles in your party. Weaknesses are also predictable, if the enemy has an element such as "fire knight" or "wind knight" in their name for example you can tell what spells to use against it. I'm not entirely sure what random monster you're talking about as it's been some time since I was doing chapter 2 of Primrose, but generally anyone can be taken down if you break them first and then unload max boosted skills while they are stunned.Ī useful tip would be to use Cyrus or a Scholar subjob when you are going to a new area, and to Analyze any new monsters that you see so that you can figure out their weaknesses. Try to save your boosts/bp for when you have broken them, sure doing weakness types do more damage but you will do more while they are broken and stunned. I find it shocking that people excuse bad design like this by suggesting you should have 2nd jobs for 2 or more characters at this point, that would be a preposterous amount if leveling and exploration to do early game content. I figured out how to defeat it by spamming bullshit mechanics, but the point is, it should never be possible for the entire party to be one shot by a random mob in a low level area where the boss is weaker than said mob. Not to mention, the other enemies in the same area give more exp and jb pts than the bear. ![]() Fighting the crows left hand was a walk in the park compared to one random mob. Not to mention, the dancers 2nd quest is after stillsnow wilderness where you find this bear, and its a complete joke. They want you to use the thief to shackle foe, or your 2nd job theif needs to have that ability, so if you didn't grab it, get fucked. The game forces you to use certain characters in certain areas. A party 10 levels higher than the area level with solid gear. I don't care if I can theoretically cancel his attack, if he hits your whole party with his atk all move, he one shots you. ![]() If you fight the heavy frost bear in stillsnow try using a party of cleric hunter soldier and scholar and you can get wiped out in one hit from the bear. No, there is horrendous balance in this game. The path to stillsnow was very odd, instead of just continuing ahead through the snowy areas, you need to leave them, go through woodlands and follow signs to a different town all together and then make a turn off into a completely separate snow area.ĭoes the game have any fast way to cheese through this part? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a jrpg have such a jarring difficulty spike and if the design only gets worse from here I may as well bring it back to the shop and refund it. And not even from difficulty alone, but also level design. I enjoy a challenge, be it Cuphead, dark souls, so on, but this isn’t a “good” one. This is absolutely ridiculous and just killed all joy from the game for me. ![]() I understand how boosting and breaking works, but there is always those one or two enemies that is just a bitch to kill. The newer ones are all level 20+ which means every single random encounter is taking like 10 minutes, and still not giving THAT much xp for how long it takes. The problem? Everywhere but the newer areas seem to all be lvl11, which all also give me piss amount of xp. I decided I should probably just go grind then. Now, I started doing prims second chapter and by god, not only were the random encounters tough and oh so long, but the boss was just impossible. I’ve gotten 2 of the second jobs, and have made sure everybody’s gear is pretty good. I started as prim who is lvl21 (yes, I know the suggested is 21), and the highest levelled from the rest of the travellers all range from 16-18. Now that I’ve done them all and started chapter 2, all I can say is what the fuck. I got this as my first game along with my switch, and apart from the overload of cutscenes in the prologues, was thoroughly enjoying it. ![]()
